I’ve been learning hiragana in my beginning Japanese studies. Unfortunately, it is going really slooowly. On the other hand, it is so much fun when I can actually identify characters. As was the case when I saw this:
And I immediately identified the characters “mo” and “chi.” Which made me really happy because I had been having problems remembering what “chi” looked like. Typically I don’t think I’d know what the actual meaning of any Japanese words are since I’m just learning to read. But, in this case, I know “mochi” because it’s also a common snack in Taiwan. So I bought the box. Yum! Nom nom.
