The full plan of BBC World Service closures has been released. Services for some languages are being eliminated entirely, while other languages will have radio programs cut or short-wave transmission cut. The BBC stated that the plan is to focus on online, mobile, and TV services. The problem is that the people who would benefit the most from BBC World Service radio programs probably do not have easy access to the internet. Yes, in more developed countries, the internet has overtaken TV and radio on some part. However, this is a huge loss for people who access their information solely through the radio. In fact, it also eliminates a secondary source of news for audiences in countries where the news comes from state-run sources. This is very sad news indeed!
