Phoenix Garden, New York, New York

The Phoenix Garden is a Cantonese restaurant in the Murray Hill neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan. It’s a bit surprising since the restaurant is not in Chinatown. The outside of the restaurant is not flashy except for the awning. There are no windows looking into the restaurant. There are stairs leading down to the single entrance to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a bit dark and it feels like it is in a basement. However, the food is great! The Pepper & Salty Shrimp is a specialty dish of the restaurant. The shrimp is in the shell. The dish was really good, really tasty and crunchy. The Sizzling Beef is another specialty dish that was really good as well. The food had flavor and spices that were unique. It’s not the typical Chinese food that people think of since it is specifically Cantonese food. It’s definitely place to check out in Midtown Manhattan.
